Alienware Area 51M Review: The first thing that you're likely to notice on this awesome laptop is the alien eyes on the magnesium lid. The eyes change color to display the laptops power status, and are just the beginning of what makes this a very special gaming machine. It's got plenty of power with the Pentium 4 3.4GHz processor and a full GB of RAM for blazing speed. No choppiness in the graphics display here.
What sets the Area 51M Extreme apart from the competition is the availability of two different display adapters. The system includes your choice of the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro or the Nvidia GeForce Go 5700, each with 128MB of dedicated VRAM.
Battery Life is average for a machine equipped with this much hardware, but most gamers don't get too far from an AC outlet. Connectivity options are well accounted for in this machine and you even get your choice of several Alien colors.
The incredible resolution of the 15.4-inch WSXGA+ display is very graphics friendly. This is a well designed gaming laptop that will please even the most demanding 3D fan, although the $3200.00 price tag will be a limiting factor for many individuals.
