Averatec Notebook Review

Averatec Notebook Review: The Averatec 3150HW is a well-equipped model for mobile professionals on-the-go. Ample RAM is supplied as factory-standard and the 802.11b wireless connectivity is a nice plus. The lack of a floppy drive or media card reader can be compensated for with a pocket-sized jump drive inserted into a USB port for doing quick backups.

Although this model comes with a DVD/CD-RW drive, the 3150HW is not well suited for gaming apps and with only 32MB of shared video RAM, movie watching would be marginal at best. Also, I'd like to see a printer port included. If a business machine is your primary focus and you require a small form factor for those cramped airline seat trays, the Averatec 3150HW fills the requirements nicely. There are currently some good rebates available for several different Averatec models.
